“Tour of Bayside” with Simon Gerrans a Unique VIP experience was held on Saturday 17th December 2011.
It was a sunny Saturday morning around 6.30am, a group of Altitude Volvo customers/cycling enthusiasts gathered at the dealership travelled down the famous bay side route to Mordialloc with one of Australia’s greatest cyclist – Simon Gerrans.
Upon their return they we’re treated to an array of fresh food for breakfast, where they shared stories and listened to Simon share his cycling events and experiences of 2011.
Everybody attending shared one thing in common and that was their passion and enthusiasm for the sport of cycling, they were all extremely complimentary of the unique event and expressed their appreciation for the opportunity provided.
On behalf of Altitude Volvo we wish to thank all the participants for their support and a special thank you to Simon Gerrans for helping make an event like this possible.

Former winner Simon Gerrans was runner up to Grega Bole (Lampre) at the GP Ouest-France in Brittany on Sunday.
The Team Sky rider, who won the event - also known as GP Plouay - in 2009, launched his attack with five kilometres remaining on the 13th and final of the 19.1km circuits.
He surged clear on the final climb up Ty-Marrec and briefly put daylight between himself and the rest before Philippe Gilbert (Omega Pharma-Lotto) and a handful of other riders were able to bridge the gap.
The move had seen Gerrans power past Michal Kwiatkowski (RadioShack) who himself had slipped the peloton at the start the last circuit and held a lead of 30 seconds going into the final 10km.
But what proved the race-winning move came soon after as Bole jumped past everyone on the downhill run towards the flamme rouge.
And he opened up just enough of an advantage to hold the rest at bay despite the best efforts of Thomas Voeckler (Europcar) in the closing stages.
Bole crossed the line at least a couple of bike lengths in front, with Gerrans finding extra reserves to kick again for second place, just ahead of Voeckler, with world champion Thor Hushovd (Garmin-Cervelo) in fourth.
The hugely testing WorldTour race, which featured no less than 3,900 climbing metres, had earlier featured an eight-man break which held a lead of just under four minutes with three circuits remaining.
However that gap came down steadily as the likes of Team Sky and Movistar worked hard on the front of the peloton and it was largely back together before Gerrans went in pursuit of Kwiatkowski with 5km to go.
Simon Gerrans an Altitude Volvo Ambassador wins the tour of Denmark!

Simon Gerrans stood firm on the final stage to clinch a superb overall victory at the Tour of Denmark.
The Australian took the event by the scruff of the neck after moving into the race lead on stage three before going on to extend his advantage over the final two days - eventually taking a nine-second victory over Daniele Bennati (Leopard Trek).
The success marks the first win for Gerrans in Team Sky colours and brings to an end a fantastic foray into Denmark for the whole squad, culminating in victory in the team classification.
Not only did the 31-year-old seal the yellow jersey, he was backed up by strong performances from Alex Dowsett and Dario Cioni as the team packed out the top-10.
A strong ride on the first stage followed by a powerful showing on the Saturday evening time trial saw Dowsett net fifth place overall in his first race back following an ankle injury.
Cioni was also to the fore and after a week of consistency the experienced Italian came home just one place further back in sixth.
